When one refers to a gaming computer you normally think of a computer that features a sleek case with a distinct design, large video cards and processing power, and the iconic gamer shouting commands to his or her teammates during an online battle. Ever since the advent of creating gaming computers there have been custom gaming computer builders. Most of which have received high praise for creating stable well thought out computer system for their unique clientele.
What many manufacturers forget however is that extra attention to detail. It is one thing to throw a bunch of high quality parts together. It is another to have someone who puts them together well. However it is rare to find a gaming computer that is skillfully crafted by a true artisan. Ne next generation of gaming computers must be more than a bunch of great parts. Anyone can hop online and build a system themselves and come up with the same computer that many online gaming computer retailers mark up and sell. So why even bother pumping money into a company who merely just builds the same computer you can? They generally offer less warranty than the individual parts do. They take more time than you would to build, test and ship the system. What are these companies actually offering? Their “ability” to follow the tons of guides on custom computer building that anyone can find on the net? With the current scenario in prospective it is easy to see that most system builders are just offering to take your money.
That may all seem like a bunch of doom and gloom and some people may still feel more comfortable buying a gaming computer from a builder regardless of cost, so let’s spend our money more wisely.
When buying a gaming computer you need to look for a few things.
- High quality parts from trusted manufacturers.
- Well selected inventory and build configurations.
- Good 2 year or longer warranty.
- Great customer service.
- Skilled Technicians
- (Most importantly) A builder who offers an artistic touch that sets themselves apart from the crowd.
How can you tell if the builder of choice has that artistic touch?
The builder should offer some sort of extra option to their build that comes at no cost to you. They do this by default because they would want their system built to that standard. Some companies will offer to individually sleeve every power cable which adds style and allows the cables to flow through the case more easily. They may also meticulously rout and modify cables so they fit the case perfectly in clean conduit style paths. When you open the case nothing should look out of place or cluttered. A great system builder will take a small space and make it look huge while accenting the hardware and case features. A system from a great builder will always look like a gallery art piece.
Whether you are looking for someone that builds a great gaming computer or just want a nice looking gaming computer, you should never compromise. Any system builder can build a system with the same parts. Very few builders can create a computer that both wows you with style and performance.
